Key Pattern
In Material Design, we were prompted to create a pattern on anything that we chose. When exploring ideas, I thought about doing a pattern on keys. As I began drawing different styles of keys, I decided to focus on a more victorian theme. I illustrated more vintage style keys and an old-fashioned lock. To add something to the background, I included a leaf pattern to help tie the victorian theme together.

When sketching out keys for this pattern, I focused on old-fashioned styled keys. To create balance, I decided to only use long keys and then to add a fancy, old-fashioned lock to be a compliment.
French Pattern
In the same Material Design class, we were also prompted to create two patterns that go together. I was inspired by France for this pattern, and I wanted the designs to be sketchy as well as elegant. To accent the main pattern, I then created a stripped band pattern that could be used in secondary objects.
